Frankie single
FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD are about to release a single — and have added dates to the forthcoming British tour.
The single, described as a concentrated up-date of “Welcome To The Pleasuredome” (title track of their current double album), is out on February 14. The B side was last week said to be a reworking of the old track “Disneyland”, but ZTT say this is not now definite.
According to the record company, the single was originally intended to go out as an extended-play record entitled “Ecstacy Play” which in turn would carry the banner “Escape Act” — “the whole new thing with Frankie”.
However, a normal single release was finally confirmed, and it’s said to be “a record for the dreamers in life, definitely no the plodders. Frankie’s current message to the world is that they have no guilt at all about anything at all.”
Meanwhile, the group have added dates at the Glasgow Apollo on March 21 and at the London Hammersmith Odeon on March 29 and 30. Tickets for Glasgow are £7.50 and £6.50. For London, prices are £8 and £7.
