More properly the arse-end of noise, the best having long gone. In 83/84, prankster and pop journalist Paul Morley was playing word games with the music industry. Further amusement was had with the technical toys in the ZTT studios, with the opening Art Of Noise album as the result. Side one dates largely from this period and includes ‘Beatbox, ‘Close To The Edit and the lush synthetic romance of ‘Moments In Love.

Side two is post-ZTT and features their version of ‘Kiss, with Tom Jones — butch enough but lacking the purple Princes come-on. ‘Paranoimia has Max Headroom on vocals, and its now all repetition with the effects used no different from the first singles. Side one ☆☆☆☆ Side two ☆☆
