SO MIKE Read has finally cottoned on to the risque (zzz) lyrics of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s top ten single ‘Relax’, eh? Seeing as it’s taken him something like eight weeks to come out with this sudden whiter than white reactionary backlash, we can only assume he read those naughty, naughty lyrics in our own Rose Rouse’s blockbuster confrontation with these ‘bad boys of rock ’n’ roll’ and suddenly realised what was going on.
The result of Read’s revelation, by the way, was that he refused to play the song on his usual Wednesday chart run down, explaining “I’m not playing this rubbish”, and apparently hurling the record across the studio!
